UF Vs RO
Some people prefer RO filtration systems while others prefer UF systems; this article provides details of the advantages of UF filtration systems. If you would like more information on RO systems related support, please click Why Choose RO Water Filtration System.
Common questions about UF Water Filtration System
1.Can UF filtration systems be harmful to mineral components such as heavy metals in the water, leaving only the beneficial minerals?
No, retaining minerals also means keeping some of the heavy metals. So far there are no water filtration systems that retain calcium and magnesium ions and other beneficial mineral ions while removing mercury, lead, cadmium and heavy metals. The heavy metals are generally either removed or retained.
2.Will the TDS value of UF waters change? If yes, Why?
No, UF system filters out harmful substances, the vast majority are not soluble ions. The filters pore size is not enough to change the TDS value.
3.What the dimension of every filters? And where to buy?
Stage1-3(PP/GAC/CTO):10"
Stage4(UF):6"
Stage5 (T33):8"

4.There is a large selection of different brandsof UF water filtration systems in the market place, how do I choose one?
- Filter series.Generally 5 stages(PP + 2 pre-activated carbon + ultrafiltration membrane + post-activated carbon).Do not choose 1 pre-activated carbon water filtration system.
- Filtering accuracy,.UF filtering accuracy is 0.01 micron
5.The water purifier discharges black water, can it be drunk?
There are usually two reasons for this happening:
Firstly, when using the filter for the first time there will be black water, this is because the carbon in the filter is black and some of the smaller particles of carbon may be washed out; as the carbon is black it will lead to black water coming out. To stop this happening the filter should be rinsed two or three times before installing it and after installation the tap should be turned on and left running for 3 to 5 minutes to get clean drinkable water.
Secondly, filters have been installed for a long time, and need to be changed.
6.Install a filter but don’t use it for half a year, can I continue to use it?
After six months the filter cannot be used anymore. If you put water through it the water should not be drunk. Change your filters immediately.
7. When using two weeks, the bottom of housing shattered. Why?And where can I buy the clear filter housing?Raw water pressure should not be more than 58psi.If so,you need to install a pressure reducing valve.Filter housing and pressure reducing valve are available in our website .Or contact customer service for replacement(support@bacoengineering.com). And the white filter housing can replace the clear one.
Introduction of filters
Does TDS show that water is good or bad?
TDS: Refers to the total dissolved solids and it is measured in milligrams to the litre (mg/l); the main solids in the water are calcium, magnesium, sodium, potassium and other conductive ion content. Some heavy metals, such as lead, arsenic and cadmium, can cause serious harm to the human body if the content in the water is to high (allow a safe concentration of 0.001 to 0.005 mg/ l). There are other impurities in water, they include bacteria, pesticides, organic pollutants, etc., but they are completely undetectable as TDS. This means that some water may have a low TDS value but it may have excessive levels of heavy metals and bacteria; alternatively some water may have a high TDS value due to the trace elements in it. But good water, such as some mineral waters, have TDS levels that are in excess of 100.
Detecting water quality requires some specific methods and tools; the TDS levels can only be regarded as a more convenient measurement for daily life and is by no means the only standard used. The use of a TDS pen to detect damage to water purifying machine is good, if the pure water TDS value was significantly higher than before it means that it could have a damaged RO membrane and meaning you should replace the filter.
Risk of drinking pure water
- It will have a direct impact on the intestinal mucosa, the bodies metabolism, mineral balance and other body functions. It will also damage the body's mineral makeup and its water metabolism.
- It is almost impossible to absorb calcium and magnesium from water with low mineral content.
- The body can only absorb a small amount of other important substances and trace elements.
- It could cause a loss of calcium, magnesium and other trace elements.
- The intake of toxic heavy metals may be more than a human body should take in.
- Low mineral water bacterial contamination risk.

What our customers say about UF Water Filtration System
The fitting for the mini tap was also not the right size for my plumbing, but that is hardly the manufacturers fault.
Would be 5 stars if they supplied a faucet option that was a bit smaller, this one is too tall for my application.
This also failed to get the 'hose rubber' taste out of the water which we thought it would handle, but no drama, better to have a potable water hose anyway.
