- 1. What are the advantages?
This product consists of two parts. A digital pressure switch and a high quality jet pump. Now focus on the pressure switch, ideal for new installations or for upgrading from an older mechanical pressure switch. Made from high quality components, the digital pressure switch allows for fully automated control of a water pump allowing you to maintain water pressure and flow rates.
The digital pressure switch does not require a separate pressure tank for operation, and will automatically cut off if no water is detected in the pump, protecting it in the case of a malfunction, leak or problem with water pressure.
Easy to operate, the digital pressure switch uses simple push button controls and has LED lights that indicate the pump functions. Unlike a mechanical pressure switch, the digital switch is easily and accurately adjusted for different pressures with a simple push-button control.

This digital pressure switch has a wide number of applications. Frequently used in water pumps for pumping from wells, reservoirs, bowsers ponds or other sources. The switch will allow for automatic pump operation when the pressure on the output side drops (for example when a valve, faucet or tap is opened), and automatic shut off when the pressure increases as the valve is closed. It’s also suitable for use on any system without a pressure tank and can be operated directly in line from pump to outflow for maximum flexibility. The digital pressure switch is also suitable for jet pumps, frequently found in shallow wells and sumps.
The digital pressure switch is simple to install to any suitable electrical connection and allows the control of any make and model of liquid pump. Cutoff pressure adjustment is easy thanks to digital control.
Built-in low water cutoff means there is no need to install separate pump protection devices, and your water pump is protected from any damage caused by running dry. It’s much easier to adjust than mechanical switches and the adjustment is more accurate making this ideal for any situation where the default manufacturer switch settings are not appropriate or where conditions mean that pressure settings need to be changed more often.
Compared to a traditional mechanical pressure switch, the digital pressure switch has several advantages:
- Suitable for use in shallow wells, sumps and reservoirs where jet pumps are used;
- Easy to install with simple electrical connections, and suitable for 110V AC operation;
- Pump protection built in, will stop pump if no water detected to prevent run-dry damage;
- No pressure tank required, simple in-line installation;
For first use, adding 2-3L of water to the head of the pump will help accelerate the flow rate of the inlet. The closer the water inlet pipe is to the pump, the better the effect. If the inlet is far from the pump, and you don't add water, it may run dry without pumping water.
A description of the distance between the installation position and the top tap (top water level):
Let me first introduce the working principle of this product.
Restart is determined by pressure (default setting starts on 1.5Bar)
Stop is determined by the flow (5-10s after the flow stops)
Under the default settings, the distance between the installation position and the top water tap should not exceed 15 meters. If this distance is exceeded when using water, the pump will not restart automatically. The solution for when using concrete is shown under Troubleshooting.
There are THREE reasons for this problem.
1: The pipe is not in sealed well.
What to look for: the installation area is full of water and if you observe carefully, you will see water seeping from the places indicated in this image:
Solution: ①②leakage: First, check that the thread standards meet (NPT), then tighten the thread with more layers of PTFE TAPE, to effectively fix the leak.
③leakage: In order to prevent damage to the threads and wires during transit, the thread is not screwed to the bottom when it leaves the factory. Tighten the thread clockwise before use. If the line length limit cannot be tightened, remove the pressure switch housing and refer to the wiring method shown here:
2: Pump overload operation.
Reason: Voltage / current is too high.
What to look for: if the voltage is determined correctly, check if the pump has been started frequently or kept working continuously without stopping. If it has, this would lead the pump to overload, causing it to pump over 4.5Bar rated pressure. If this happens for a long time, this would eventually cause pump body leakage. The leakage point is shown below:
Solution: when the pressure in the water system changes too often（the faucet has been turned on and off too much） this will cause the pump to start frequently. If the water system leaks, or the faucet is not closed, the pump will keep on working all the time.
These two cases will force the pump to use a high current, causing the actual pressure to exceed the maximum safety pressure for this pump (5.5Bar). If this continues for a long time, leakage will result. Once a leak occurs here, the customer cannot handle it and must have it repaired by a professional manufacturer. So if this situation occurs, we suggest customers take pictures and contact us for a refund.
We will continuously improve the quality of our pumps, including upgrading the seal to improve the pressure capacity.
3: Other external forces.
Damage during transport due to careless handling or rough installations can lead to leaks. Therefore, when receiving the goods, please check if the packaging is intact, whether the pump is damaged or if the parts are deformed in any way.
According to our many years of sales experience, most situations where the pump doesn’t work are due to water shortages in the pump head or residual air in the pipeline.
Situation 1: The customer has just received the pump. After the installation has been completed, the power supply is switched on and the water switch is red. After 5 seconds, the water pump stops working. When the restart button is pressed, it stops again after a few seconds.
Solution: Add 2-3L of water from the pump inlet and then connect the power.
Situation 2: There is no response when the power is switched on, the pump does not work and the light on the switch does not even show up.
Solution: After disconnecting the power supply, check the power plug wiring and internal wiring. See if it falls off. (Refer to the following chart)

Situation 3: A customer has installed the pump at the bottom of the building, which has six floors, 20 meters high. The sixth floor's showerhead is located about 18 meters up vertically from the water pump. Then this situation occurs: The pump starts to work after the power is switched on, but when the faucet is turned off for 5-10s, the pump stops working. Then when the sixth floor tap water is turned on, the pipe water system pressure is down, and eventually is non-existent, and the pump has not restarted. This is because the pump outlet pressure is still higher than 1.5bar and the 18 meter long vertical water pipe provides the pressure.
Solution: In this case, some customers will suspect that the pump is broken, when in fact they just need to manually increase the pump restart pressure and then it will work.
The method for adjusting the restart pressure:
Clockwise rotation - to increase the restart pressure
Anti-clockwise rotation - to reduce the restart pressure
