Voltage/Current/Speed of opening(closing) Questions
Does this one close when power is no longer applied? Alternately if battery operated, what switching would be required?
1/2" DC12V SS304 2 Port Motorized Ball Valve, Electric Ball Valve CR05 NPT
-
This valve only uses power when you are switching it open or closed. You will have to reverse the polarity of the power going to the motor to make it spin in the opposite direction. I've been able to run the motor at 5v DC up to 12v DC. The motor does turn slower at lower voltages.
- No, to reverse the valve you have to flip the polarity. I ended up running mine with 2 power supplies and a relay
- No. When power is no longer applied, the valve stays were it is. Thus you can if you wanted open it half way, though I'm not sure if it would stay put.Mine does not move from full open or full closed after I remove power.
Hello can you please check for me the opening and closing time for this actuator DC12V and also for the AC110-240V. Thanx
DN25 1" DC12V CR5-01 Electric Ball Valve Three Ways Stainless Steel 304 Motorized Ball Valve (CR5-01)
- Hi Omar, it will take 13-15sec form closed to open or open to closed for both DC12V and 110-240V.
Best Regards
The description of the limit sw is followed by a question mark. My question is: is the power cut off after the selected posistion is attained?
1" 12V/24V Stainless Steel Motorized Ball Valve(AC/DC9-36V CR303 Three Wires Electric Ball Valve)
The answer is yes. When the valve begin to close(or open), the working current is 200-400ma. When selected position is attained, power cut off.(There is still a tiny current within 15ma which we called static current.)
Does the valve actually take 3 to 5 seconds to open/close? If so, can that time be reduced by upping the voltage?
1" DN25 Stainless Steel NPT 2 Port Motorized Valve (AC/DC9-24V CR04 Two Wires Spring Return When Power Off Electric Ball Valve)
You can probably increase open speed with higher voltage, but if you will note on the specs. it is spring closed, so the close time could only be increased by strengthening the close spring. The whole intention of this valve is to open and close slowly to reduce/eliminate water line hammer.
Is it okay that the medium is compressed air? What is the pressure? Compared 24VDC with 9-36V, what is the difference between their internal electrical components? Which is better of their current ability and operating life? If the 24V type is easier to break down when when the voltage is unstable? Which circuit is simpler of 24V and 9-36V?
The compressed air is possible to be used. Normally the maximum pressure is 1MPA. The more simple the control circuit is, the more stable and longer life the actuator is. CR2-01 is the most stable one in whole control circuit. But the stability of the current is not relative with the voltage, they are all compared stable. CR2-02 comes with spring return function, it has a Farad Capacity in the internal, its current is higher in the beginning few seconds when it is connected with power, because the Farad Capacity needs to be charged. The 9-36V type is better when the voltage is not stable. Their circuit is similar, wide voltage(9-36V) is suitable for constant voltage(24V).
If a 5VDC actuator can be used in a voltage of 3.2V?
It can’t. We can customize an actuator of CR201 DC3V.
Bore size/Liquid/Pressure/Temperature/Cv Questions
Can this valve be used to proportionally control flow? Also, will it work with air?
1/2" DC12V SS304 Motorized Valve,Electrical Ball Valve CR-02
There is no built in position feedback. I took the valve/ motor apart and drilled/tapped the shaft to add a stub shaft to permit the addition of a gear train to rheostat. It was pretty crude but in the end worked for much less than ready made solution. If it's water tight it should be air tight... Just keep in mind max working/ rated pressures.
What is the Cv of the valve? I'd like to use it for flow control but I need to determine the pressure drop across the valve to see if it's suitable.
1/2" 12V/24V Brass Motorized Ball Valve(3 Way, AC/DC9-36V CR202 2 Wires Normally Closed Electric Ball Valve)
- This one is a full size port. Not all baco valves are. This one is, so no pressure drop.
- Hi Dear,
The CV of this product is 7.82USgal/min
Hope it will be helpful for you. - There should be no pressure drop through the valve because the valve is a full bore valve which means the opening is a 3/4" straight through
-
This failed within a couple months of purchasing.
Is this valve full port when open?
1" DN25 110VAC Stainless Steel Motorized Ball Valve 2 Way/Zone Valve With US Plug(NC CR202 2 Wires Control Electrical Ball Valve)
Yes. This series is a full port version. Port Size is 15mm, 20mm, 25mm for 1/2" 3/4" and 1" valve.
Would this work for Diesel fuel, I have an auxillary tank in the back of my truck with a gravity feed manual switch. I want to put this in the line.
1" DN25 Stainless Steel NPT 2 Port Motorized Valve (AC/DC9-24V CR04 Two Wires Spring Return When Power Off Electric Ball Valve)
The only parts in contact with The working fluid is the stainless steel ball and housing and the EPDM rubber. Just look up if those materials are compatible with your fuel.
What is the sealing material of the actuator? Is it EPDM? Or PTFE? Or both of them?
Different positions used different materials. It’s silicone material on the cover, lead wire and manual axle. It’s NBR on the output shaft.
When the valve is closed water leaks through the valve.
Sometimes I can depress the valve then line the valve back up to pressure and it will hold and not leak.
Ext time it automatically opens and closes it will leak through the valve again.
The valve is used on the discharge of a water well pump. The pressure is 40 to 60 PSI.
Thanks for your help
It could be the problem of the valve body. The valve body is sealed via squeeze the ball and the sealing ring tightly with a given pressure, it could leak if the pressure is too high or too low. But the pressure what you applied is in a normal pressure range, and it doesn’t leak when you give the valve a pressure, when you don’t give it the pressure it still leaks water, so it should be the problem of the valve body.
Are your motorized valves waterproof?
Our products are waterproof but they can be soaked in the water completely. If you want to use it in the water, we can supply special underwater valve.
Can the electric valve work with a pressure of 0.0004MPA?
The pressure is too low, but it can work with it without problems.
Q1: I purchased 5 of these. 3 in Brass and 2 in Stainless Steel. I tried testing them with 24v AC but they are not stroking open? I hooked them up directly to a 24v Transformer 2-wire, and they do not open? How do I get them to work? These are spring return, correct?
The manual wheel need to be reversed to the original position. Our manual override need to be lift up about 3mm to open or close the ball valve. The product is in a power off condition when the manual override is lift up. It will doesn’t work before the manual override is push to its original position.
Q2: If it still doesn’t work after pressing down the manual override, is there no other solutions?
If it’s not this reason, if it is the reason that the instant voltage is too high when you just use it? It will be burned when the power is too high.
Wire Diagram/NC/NO Questions
Do the 2 & 3 wire configuration options exist on a single model, or are they two separate models?
1/2" DC12V SS304 Motorized Valve,Electrical Ball Valve CR-02
-
They are 2 different models. One has super capacitors to close the valve when no power is applied. And one uses the DC power supply with 1 control wire.
-
hi, i purchased the "BACOENG 1" DC12V Brass 2 Port Motorized Ball Valve ,Electric Ball Valve CR02 NPT" and it came with 3 wires. i have not installed it yet, so i dont know how well it will work. But need to say that no wiring instruction or any paper came in the package, so you are on your own trying to figure it out.. that is funny, i have never seen anything sold without installation instruction.Good luck.
- The picture states "the valve open, the actuator automatically power off after in place". However this is not the case. The valve keeps trying to open or close unless to remove power. I wanted to use the limit switches to monitor the status of the valve from an alarm panel. However it appears I would need to use them inline with the 12v power to stop the valve once opened or closed. I ended up sending this product back.
The description of the limit sw is followed by a question mark. My question is: is the power cut off after the selected posistion is attained?
(DN25 Stainless steel 9-36VCR3-03 With manual)
The answer is yes. When the valve begin to close(or open), the working current is 200-400ma. When selected position is attained, power cut off.(There is still a tiny current within 15ma which we called static current.)
I would like to be closed most of the time, can this be closed even off/unplugged in case of power out?
1" DN25 110VAC Stainless Steel Motorized Ball Valve 2 Way/Zone Valve With US Plug(NC CR202 2 Wires Control Electrical Ball Valve)
It has a spring return to off so it is only open while power is being applied.
By Scott L. on February 18, 2016
Does spring return mean that it returns via a spring?
It returns via the FARAH Capacitor. When power is on, the capacitor charges automatically. When power is off, the FARAH Capacitor has the enough power to open or close the valve.

Fault/Bug Questions
It looks well, and it can be closed/opened normally, but the opening signal doesn't work. When it is 14V, the opening signal worked well. But the actual operating situation is 12V.
(DN35 DC12V CR501, Brass two way)
It could be the reason that the switch contacts not very well. Please open the cover of the actuator, there are two switches in it, you need to make the metal blade contact the black stopper completely, then it will operate as normal.
It looks like being blocked and doesn't operate now. If it needs any lubricant to make it continue to operate?
(DN25 Stainless Steel 9-36V CR2-02)
The reason could be that the black stopper has been loosened and it couldn't contact the switch. You may need to open the actuator to reseat the black stopper.
Other Questions
Can the electric actuator be separated from the valve and retrofitted on standard north american hand operated ball vale of similar size?
1/2" DC12V SS304 Motorized Valve,Electrical Ball Valve CR-02
-
Probably not worth the time and difficulty for the adaptation. Would need to make some custom machined parts to make it fit. It would probably be better to use it in line with the faucet or ??? you want to control. FYI it also needs power to open and close. It is not sprung to close when the power is removed. Wiring diagrams are easily found thru google search for the CR-02 version of this valve. Good luck with your project!
-
I don't think so. The body of the valve itself is cast with a small plate that the motor sits on and actuates through which is probably very non-standard. But why would you want to do that? The stainless valve body is quality, and with the advent of sharkbites just cut out the old valve. Or leave the old valve permanently open in place and place this one further upstream/downstream. That way if this one fails you can still hand close the line.
Is the valve rated for continous duty?
1" DN25 110VAC Stainless Steel Motorized Ball Valve 2 Way/Zone Valve With US Plug(NC CR202 2 Wires Control Electrical Ball Valve)
Not sure what it's rated for but it has been in service in our glycol loop for over a year opening and closing multiple times a day and no problems yet.
Is this the three way a diverter valve or a shutoff?
1" DN25 110VAC Stainless Steel Motorized Ball Valve 2 Way/Zone Valve With US Plug(NC CR202 2 Wires Control Electrical Ball Valve)
Shut off valve
This device acts as a switch 1, when it receives the water flow closes ?? can enable 1 circuit. as one water pump 120 or 240 vac ??. it is npt
3/4" DN20 110VAC Stainless Steel Motorized Ball Valve,Normally Open Electrical Ball Valve (3/4'')
- Your question is not clear. I'll tell you what it does. The HS-flow device comes with a 6' plug with 120v male plug. The valve is normally open. When energized, the valve closes and shuts flow. Yes, it's 3/4
By vettura on May 1, 2016 - No, it is not a switch. When it is electrically charged the valve opens. Yes it is NPT
By Glade Christensen on May 1, 2016
How do I now if the valve has completely shifted from one state to another? (Switched from one position to another)
Yes, there is no light or indicator flag visible on the outside of the valve case and this would be a welcomed improvement. In my case, I know that the valve has shifted by there being water available.
Will motorized valve work with Z-wave controller?
Z-wave controller should be a wireless controller. As long as the you can connected our products with your wireless equipment, it could be possible.
What is the longest interval of the time control valve?
99 hours
